It seems like almost yesterday when I learned that my former NewsChannel 20 co-worker Don Hickman and his partner Bill Stokes were putting together a new magazine that would highlight all of the charitable and cultural events happening in the city.   I remember thinking at the time “This is a perfect fit for Don. He knows everyone, and has a taste for the finer things in life.” But I also thought “What does he know about publishing a magazine?” Well, I shouldn’t have worried. Don, Bill and Miriam Stokes, and their team put together a very slick magazine that was a great successor to Springfield Magazine, which had served a similar purpose in the past.   Springfield Scene Magazine made quite an impression on me when it debuted, and it was quite an honor when Don chose to do a feature on me back in the spring of 2005. I met him at his office, and we sat down and had a great chat.
