T he second annual Play for the Cure fundraiser was held on June 14 at Brookhills Golf Club in Springfield. More than 100 women, and later their guests participated in the outing to raise funds for the fight against breast cancer. With an all-male tournament staff, door prizes, Bra Pong, photo booth and all-day fun, the outing contributed $25,000 to Komen and its mission to save lives and end breast cancer. Komen Photos submitted by Patty Schuh Seventy-five percent of the donations supports local community health grants throughout our 36-county service area and provide life-saving mammograms and other breast health support services to women. The other twenty-five percent goes to cutting-edge research to prevent, treat and cure the disease.
