Campaign. Our community is better off when we pitch in together to help those in need. In this case the “Better Together” theme relates to businesses helping their employees see that the United Way campaign helps to get their contributions to the agencies that meet the most pressing needs in our community. According to Dale, the results so far show this new approach is working. Sarah and Sam Sevener, as teachers at Washington Middle School, helped to run a more information based UW Campaign in their school. The result was an increase from $400 last year to $7,000 this year, an amazing increase. Christine Becker helped run an effective campaign at her place of employment, M.J. Kellner Co. The effort increased participation from 7 to 34 pledgers and increased the overall campaign from $4,000 last year to $12,000 this year. Dale said, “These type of success stories are what we need in order to reach our goal this year of 3 million dollars.” Community Programs United Way Programs Volunteer Programs United Way brings together our nonprofit, business and community leaders to identify community needs and provide multiple levels of assistance to agencies and programs addressing those needs in our community.
