The Lincoln Land Community College Foundation will hold a one-day fundraising event, LLCC Giving Day, on Tuesday, Feb. 23. Alumni, students, faculty, staff and friends of LLCC are welcome and encouraged to participate. The goal is to raise $5,000 to help students with emergency needs, scholarships and through donations to the annual fund.
The Pay It Forward Fund was established by former Foundation Board Member Carolyn Blackwell, who realized there was a need to help students experiencing emergency situations so they could continue to focus on their coursework. The fund has been used to pay for tuition, purchase gas cards, bus passes, books, tools for students in workforce programs, course materials for students and more.
The general scholarship fund helps students with a demonstrated financial need by assisting with the cost of tuition. The annual fund supports students by providing for such needs as the latest technology, upgraded facilities, classroom equipment and in-person as well as online curricula.
Donors may make a tax-deductible contribution by visiting https://llccfoundation.org/donate. The LLCC Foundation is also encouraging donors to share their experience to help promote Giving Day on social media using #LLCCGivingDay.
