On October 19th at the Abraham Lincoln Library and Museum, the Illinois Innocence Project  at the University of Illinois Springfield held its annual Defenders of the Innocent fundraising event featuring personal stories shared by exonerees James Kluppelberg, Marilyn Mulero and Brian Beals, each of whom was wrongfully convicted of crimes and imprisoned as innocent people.  The event was preceded by a private event for the sponsors and exonerees at the Library.  Here are some photos by Bill Stokes.
