In anticipation of the 88th Beaux Arts Ball, the Springfield Art Association (SAA) will host the Court Reception on Saturday, June 15, 2019, from 4 – 6 p.m. This reception, to be held on the campus of the Springfield Art Association (700 North 4th Street), will introduce this year’s Beaux Arts Ball King, Queen and Court to members of the Springfield Art Association and the community. King Ethan S. Hunt and Queen Allie Rose Moffett are honored to preside over the November evening’s festivities.

Allie Rose Moffett is the daughter of Lisa and Daniel Moffett. She attended Christ the King grade school and later graduated from Sacred Heart-Griffin. Throughout her childhood, Allie participated in and looked forward to the SAA’s summer camps every year. She left Springfield to attend Butler University, located in Indianapolis, IN., to study strategic communication and business. During her time at Butler, Allie was a student orientation guide and advocate for community engagement. Both of these positions emphasized a focus on community and expansion of one’s surroundings, which are skills that she then utilized during her semester abroad in Florence, Italy. She is currently working for Hamilton County tourism as their public relations and marketing intern, and is loving the opportunity to learn more about Indiana’s amazing local businesses. Allie’s fondest memories of the SAA include making gingerbread houses, participating in the Ghosts of Edwards Place, creating a foot stool out of her own foot cast, eating lunch with new friends around the buffalo statue, taking a pottery course with her mom and cuttin’ a rug at the Beaux Arts Ball with her brother, Will, and her Granny Allie. She is proud to represent her class in this important Springfield tradition, which allows citizens to learn about and enjoy the arts in so many ways, something very important to Allie.
Ethan S. Hunt is the son of Jeffrey and Susan Hunt and a member of the SAA since the early 1990’s.  His grandparents, Carl and Dian Hoffee, joined in the early 1960’s.  Ethan attends the University of Indiana in Bloomington, IN., majoring in Informatics.  Ethan is a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity and a member of the Business Analytics Club.  Ethan is an intern with Levi, Ray and Shoup in Springfield working in the IT Solutions department.  Ethan’s fondest memories of the SAA are his mom teaching Art Outreach is his classes throughout the years and attending the Beaux Arts Ball.  His aunt Pam Rigby served as Queen of the 1990 Beaux Arts Ball.  He is honored to continue the long standing history of his family with the SAA by serving as king of this year’s Ball.

The 88th Beaux Arts Ball will be held on Saturday, November 29, 2019, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Springfield. The Beaux Arts Ball raises funds for the SAA’s operating expenses and provides an exciting venue to honor the families and volunteers who generously support the SAA with their time and talents. Proceeds from the Ball help serve more than 100,000 people in Sangamon County and surrounding communities with high quality classes, art outreach programs, special events, lectures, and Summer Art camps. The SAA’s newest addition, the SAA Collective gallery presents the work of local artists, the M.G. Nelson Family Gallery, hosts brilliant exhibits from local, national and international artists. The SAA also preserves and maintains the historic Edwards Place, the oldest home in Springfield and the Michael Victor II Art Library.
