The Lincoln Land Community College Foundation Board of Directors welcomed three new members, elected new officers and recognized outgoing board members at a recent meeting.
The following are new members of the board:
Earl Flack serves as president and CEO of McKay NAPA Auto Parts, which is headquartered in Litchfield and has 26 stores and a distribution center servicing central Illinois. Flack also serves as an advisor for all NAPA stores across the country and at NAPA headquarters based in Atlanta, Georgia. He currently serves in an advisory position at local high schools and community colleges for the automotive aftermarket. Flack is an active member of numerous clubs and organizations including Hillsboro Health, Make-A-Wish and the South Central Innovation & Training Center.
Doreen Garza is originally from Venezuela and earned a bachelor’s degree in economics and Spanish literature at Bryn Mawr College in Pennsylvania. She then relocated to Madrid, Spain, eventually returning stateside to work with The Hartford as a regional marketing director for its Bermuda-based offshore investment products. She was based in Miami, Florida until she relocated to Springfield in 2010. She is an LLCC Culinary Arts alumna and a supporter of LLCC Community Education classes and dinners. Garza is involved in various Springfield clubs and organizations and supports the educational and sports activities of her children. Garza is bilingual in English and Spanish.
Rachel Pennell is a lifelong resident of Springfield and serves as the executive vice president of human resources at Roland Machinery Company. She is a third-generation business owner of the company. Pennell joined the family business, Roland Machinery, in 2003 following a career in social work, mental health and child welfare. She earned a Bachelor of Science Education degree from Southern Illinois University and a Master of Social Work degree from Tulane University.
Margaret Teague of Springfield was installed as board chair for 2024. Dan Wilcoxen of Springfield was elected vice chair, and Joe Kulek of Springfield was elected treasurer.
Outgoing board members Bill Fleming of Litchfield, Brett Jackson of Springfield and Neil Jordan of Springfield were acknowledged for their dedicated service on behalf of LLCC students.
