Butler Funeral Homes has been recognized as a Gift of Hope CHAMPION Funeral Home for serving families choosing the ultimate gift of life through an organ, tissue, and eye donation.
“From April 2022 to April of this year 23 families that we’ve served have made the benevolent choice to allow for their loved ones to live on with someone else through the Gift of Hope network for organ, tissue, and eye donation,” said Katie Mendenhall Wilson, director of funeral service operations.
“As an organization we are very proud to support the National Donate Life Month Say Yes! campaign during April in partnership with Gift of Hope and other organizations and advocates throughout Illinois and northwest Indiana.”
The Butler organization is honoring National Donate Life Month in many ways. Purple butterflies on stakes adorn the walkway into the 6th Street funeral home in addition to signage explaining the significance. Funeral home associates are wearing purple ties through April along with Gift of Hope pins. Donate Life bracelets and pens are available for individuals desiring one.
The Butler Family of Organizations has been helping families say goodbye to loved ones with dignity and respect for nearly 130 years.
