The Animal Protective League (APL) will hold several pet adoptions during August with cats and dogs available at various locations. All animals presented by APL for have been spayed or neutered, microchipped and have received all vaccinations by the time of their adoption.
Adoptions will be held:
· Saturday, August 4 –Cats and dogs will be available in APL’s Mobile Pet Adoption Center from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. at Petco, 2721 S. Veterans Parkway, Springfield; cats will be available from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. and dogs will be available from noon to 3 p.m. at PetSmart, 3183 South Veterans Parkway, Springfield
· Sunday, August 5 – Cats and dogs will be available in APL’s Mobile Pet Adoption Center from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the First Sunday Midwest Bazaar at the Menard County Fairgrounds, 18450 Fairgrounds St., Petersburg; Cats will be available from noon until 4 p.m. and dogs will be available from noon to 3 p.m. at PetSmart.
· Saturday, August 11 – Cats will be available from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. and dogs will be available from noon to 3 p.m. at PetSmart.
· Sunday August 12 – Cats will be available from noon until 4 p.m. at PetSmart.
· Saturday, August 18 – Cats will be available from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. and dogs will be available from noon to 3 p.m. inside PetSmart.
· Sunday, August 19 – Cats will be available from noon until 4 p.m. and dogs will be available from noon until 3 p.m. at Pet Supplies Plus, 1895 E. Sangamon Ave., Springfield.
· Saturday, August 25– Cats and dogs will be available in APL’s Mobile Pet Adoption Center from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. at Petsmart, 1460 Koester Rd., Forsyth, Springfield; cats will available from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. dogs will be available from noon to 3 p.m. at PetSmart.
· Sunday, August 26– Cats will be available from noon until 4 p.m. and dogs will be available from noon until 3 p.m. at PetSmart.
Dogs and cats are available for adoption daily from noon until 5 p.m. at the shelter located at 1001 Taintor Rd., Springfield.
APL, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to assisting ill, injured and abandoned homeless animals, runs an animal shelter which is open every day from noon to 5 p.m. for adoptions. APL also coordinates cruelty investigations and humane education programs. APL also operates a low cost spay/neuter clinic adjacent to its Springfield shelter.
