The Springfield Area Arts Council (SAAC) and the Illinois Department of Natural Resources are thrilled to present An Evening with Gatsby, a literary celebration marking the centennial anniversary of The Great Gatsby. This unforgettable event will take place on Friday, April 26, from 6:30 to 8:30 PM at the historic Dana-Thomas House, a setting as grand and evocative as the Jazz Age itself.

Attendees will be transported to the Roaring Twenties with live entertainment, engaging arts activities, and exclusive tours of the Dana-Thomas House, designed by renowned architect Frank Lloyd Wright. Guests are encouraged to dress in period-inspired attire and fully immerse themselves in the elegance and intrigue of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s iconic novel.

Adding to the experience, the evening will feature hors d’oeuvres and signature drinks straight from the pages of The Great Gatsby, offering a taste of the lavish lifestyle depicted in the book.

This family-friendly event serves as a fundraiser to support the Springfield Area Arts Council’s programs, fostering access to the arts throughout the community, and to support the Illinois Department of Natural Resources’ preservation and beautification projects at the Dana-Thomas House. Tickets are $100 per person and go on sale March 3. Availability is limited, so early reservations are encouraged.
