The Community Foundation for the Land of Lincoln is now accepting proposals for its Community Grants Program, the Access to Recreation Fund and the CFLL
Historic Preservation Fund. The deadline for all three grant cycles is July 14, 2023.
The Community Grants Program is an unrestricted grantmaking program. Local nonprofits are invited to apply for up to $5,000 for any charitable focus in Cass, Christian, Logan, Macoupin, Menard, Montgomery, Morgan, and/or Sangamon County, Illinois. Applicants will be notified of funding decisions in September.
The Access to Recreation Program was originally established at the Foundation through a challenge grant from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation in 2008. This fund supports accessible recreation programs that provide people with disabilities the opportunity to participate in outdoor or indoor recreation activities without barriers in Sangamon County.
Preference will be given to creative programmatic activities and events that promote integrated (able-bodied and disabled) access to recreation and positively impact the general public – not specific, individual clients. Multiple grant awards totaling $6,000 may be available, and individual requests should not exceed $3,000. Funds must be used for programs and services primarily assisting residents of Sangamon County, Illinois.
The CFLL Historic Preservation Fund is an endowment fund established to assist nonprofit organizations in funding historic preservation projects in Springfield, Illinois. Up to $6,000 may be awarded from this fund. Projects are sought that support the physical improvement of structures and/or promote the issue of historic preservation in Springfield, Illinois.
The CFLL Historic Preservation Fund was established by a Community Foundation board resolution in 2008 in coordination with an initial contribution from excess funds following the rededication celebration of the Illinois Old State Capitol Building upon its 40 th anniversary.
Local nonprofit organizations are encouraged to submit proposals before the July 14, 2023 deadline. Applicants must apply via the Community Foundation’s online system at www.CFLL.org. Please contact the Community Foundation with questions at 217-789-4431. Local nonprofits that would like to be notified of future grant opportunities can also sign up on the Foundation’s website to receive grant alerts via email.
Through philanthropic services, strategic grantmaking and community leadership, the Community Foundation for the Land of Lincoln “connects people who care with causes that matter.”
